The band behind the catchy 2006 cross-over single 'Over and Over' are London's Hot Chip. Boasting a sound that cannot be defined by just one style, the band - comprising of Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke and Felix Martin - turned heads with their debut album Coming on Strong in 2004. The album, released on the label Moshi Moshi, spawned the single 'Playboy'. After signing to EMI, they released The Warning in 2006. NME described the band's second album as "the finest album of electronic rock since Mylo's Destroy Rock & Roll". The album, which also features the single 'And I Was A Boy From School', was nominated for the coveted Mercury Music Prize in 2006. With a constantly evolving sound and influences as far-reaching as Wil Oldham, Smog and Prince, Hot Chip's music contains elements of indie pop, funk, electro, 2-step, garage, hip hop and electronica - to name just a few. Reputed for their imaginative and energetic live shows, Hot Chip have toured with the likes of Goldfrapp, LCD Soundsystem and Mylo, and have graced many a festival stage, including Glastonbury, Sonar, Reading and Big Day Out. Hot Chip's third studio album is expected for release sometime in late 2007.
